  Inspection Overview

INSPECTION OVERVIEW

A professional home inspection gives you an independent, unbiased visual examination and overview of the condition of the house, so that you will have all the facts you need to make a sound, informed decision.  We identify major defects in the visible portions of the property.  A home inspection is not intended to point out every small problem or defect that would be apparent to the average person without the aid of a professional such as cosmetic flaws.

Depending on the size and condition of the home, a thorough home inspection will take approximately 2 hours or longer.  Ideally, you will accompany your inspector during the consultation, so that you will have visual reinforcement of your written report.

We take our inspection reports seriously.  Every inspection is a complete and thorough analysis of all the major systems and components in the home.  The report includes a clear description of what we've found, color photos of problem areas noted, so you can easily identify them.  Our inspectors provide FREE telephone consultation after your inspection.

A Typical Inspection Includes:
  •  Roof, vents, flashings, and trim
  •  Gutters and downspouts
  •  Skylights, chimneys and roof penetrations
  •  Decks, steps, porches, walkways and railings
  •  Grading, drainage and sump pumps
  •  Basement, foundation and crawlspace
  •  Water penetration and foundation movement
  •  Heating and cooling systems
  •  Main water shut off valves
  •  Water heating system
  •  Interior rooms, plumbing fixtures and faucets
  •  Exterior walls and grounds
  •  Main disconnect and service amperage
  •  Electrical service entrance, panels, breakers, and fuses
  •  Grounding and bonding
  •  Fireplace damper door and hearth
